Benefits of Making Co-parenting Agreements Early

By Grace McSpadden, dated October 4, 2019. Grace McSpadden is a novelist and film producer living in Los Angeles.

Benefits for children

Making co-parenting agreements earlier is better for children. Co-parenting can give children stability, security, and close relationships with both parents.

Conflict and serious issues

Domestic violence and substance abuse are serious issues that may affect co-parenting. Children exposed to conflict between co-parents are more likely to develop depression, anxiety, or ADHD.
